Just a quick update… Timothy had his first appointment at CHLA yesterday. Nothing new. We met the doctor, went over some medical history, and got some labs done. It was more of getting acquainted visit. Timothy did great. I guess he is really used to the hospital culture. As soon as the nurse called him, he got on the scale, went to get his height checked and did all the vitals without a peep. He even commented on the size of the blood pressure cuff to make sure it wasn’t too big. He did everything the doctor asked him to do and during his blood draws, which they had to poke since we removed the PICC lines, he didn’t even flinch. He just looked at the needle and minded his own business. It only took 2 pokes yesterday. We even had a chance to stop by his wonderful immunologist to say hi :). It was nice being back, but this time being “cured”.
Today we received a pleasant surprise from a friend in Houston:
What a wonderful gift! A snow globe of downtown Houston. Houston will always have a special place in my heart… It will always remind me of the warm and kind people we’ve met. And of course, a place where Timothy received a new lease on life.
