Day -1

It is surreal.  In less than 24 hours, Timothy will be receiving his new marrow.  His own immune system is being wiped out as the chemo is taking its effect.  We truly feel blessed to be where we are.  Not only does Timothy have a donor who is willing to donate and allow him the possibility of a “normal” life, but we are also blessed by the community of supporters, near and far.  We have had a calm, peaceful day today.  Timothy was in a fairly good mood and was a tiny bit more active.  We were able to visit the playroom after his isolation was lifted.  All the blood cultures and the respiratory panel came out negative, along with other scans and tests.  And we know that this is all due to God’s sovereign mercy through your prayers.  We feel them.  We feel them acutely.  Every message, text, email have been such a blessing and a reminder that we are not alone and are prayed for.  Thank you.

Here’s the plan… The marrow will arrive sometime early tomorrow morning and after it’s processed, it will be infused into Timothy.  It’s much like a blood transfusion.  Timothy will be pre-medicated just in case there’s an adverse reaction and he will be monitored for at least 4 hours.  The infusion itself should last about an hour or less.  Typically.  He is scheduled for his infusion/BMT at 1 pm (Houston time).

We love you, friends near and far, new and old and even friends we have never met…

  4. Alice,
You don't know me and my family. My name is Joanne, and I heard from our shared friend, Nami, of your circumstances here in Houston. Please know you have been in our family prayers since we heard of you and Timothy and the rest of your family.
We are strangers, but not in Christ:)
Lifting him up and the procedure today,
    The Lims

  8. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. — Psalm 43:5 (NIV)

...from our church website's Verse of the Day.
    He's watching, take comfort.
Your faith is so strong, mine perhaps would have shattered long ago.
God is being glorified, thanks to you.
