According to our doctor, Timothy will hit rock bottom 7-10 days following his last chemo treatment… that takes us to next Monday through Thursday. I don’t know what this means nor what it would look like. And I am fearful. He’s been in a relatively good mood so far. Also most patients develop mucositis of the mouth and throat. It can be mild to severe. I have been diligent about cleaning his mouth at least 3x a day to prevent this. I hear they are extremely painful. Hopefully, Timothy’s will be mild or maybe not get it at all. Today, he needed platelet transfusion. With his platelet numbers being really low, his body is unable to clot and he has many “scratches” and some bruises on his body. But otherwise, he’s still holding up.
Here are some pictures from today:
This was after bath, right before bedtime :).
Timothy’s lifeline: all of these pumps push in antibiotics, anti-fungals, anti-nausea, anti-rejection meds… plus IV nutrition (TPN + lipids), blood/platelet transfusions… and bags and bags of hydration.
i don't know why but i can't see your pictures, alice. :(
ReplyDeletewill continue to pray that timothy's "rock bottom" would be merciful...hope his platelets and hgb stabilize soon.
miss you, alice. love and prayers as always.

DeleteStay strong mom and dad. Continually praying for you guys. :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture made me want to give him a big, squishy hug! Would you hug him for me and tell him it's from me and Eleanor? I hope "rock bottom" doesn't happen and pray that he's well throughout the next few weeks and forever! xoxo Claudia
